Club History

Marist Junior Football Club was established in 1968 as a family friendly AFL club with a focus on promoting a supportive and safe environment. That culture continues today with the emphasis on developing players skills, sportsmanship and personal growth.

The club became part of the Newman Sports Association in 1985 following the completion of the Newman Sports Complex. This gave the club access to quality facilities and first class sporting grounds, which members continue to benefit from today.

Over the years, Marist has enjoyed a great deal of on-field success, and has had many members continue on to play in the WAFL and AFL. Some of the most recent players to have achieved this are Jesse Hogan, Kane Mitchell, the Waterman brothers and Travis Colyer.
